Simple card design
Yesterday I posted a video on my YouTube Channel about creating simple cards with 4" x 6" pieces Designer Series paper (DSP)
I demonstrated 5 cards. Here are the details.
Card #1
SUPPLIES:
Card base - Card stock cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/3", scored at 4 1/4"
Whisper white card stock for inside panel 4" x 5 1/4"
DSP - 4" x 6"
Card base - Card stock cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/3", scored at 4 1/4"
Whisper white card stock for inside panel 4" x 5 1/4"
DSP - 4" x 6"
scrap of whisper white card stock for stamping and punching
Stamp set of your choice (I used Peaceful Moments #151595)
Punch of your choice to fit sentiments (I used Story Label #150076)
Paper trimmer (with scoring tool)
Bone folder
Stampin dimensionals
Glue
Optional -- embellishments like rhinestones, gems, enamel dots, etc.
You choose any design and coordinating card stock.
1. Fold and burnish card base with bone folder. This card made in "portrait mode"
2. Cut the DSP to 5 1/4" on the 6" side
3. Adhere the 4" x 5 1/4" piece of DSP to front of the card, leaving an even border all the way around,
3. Adhere the 4" x 5 1/4" piece of DSP to front of the card, leaving an even border all the way around,
4. Adhere the 3/4" strip of DSP to the whisper white panel about 1/2" from the bottom on 4" side.
5. Stamp sentiment on inside panel
6. Adhere this white panel to the inside of the card, leaving an even border all the way around.
7. Stamp you sentiment onto the scrap of whisper white.
8. Using the punch of your choice, punch out the sentiment.
9. Use dimensionals to adhere the sentiment to the front of the card. You can choose the placement, based on the pattern of your DSP -- Wherever it looks best!
10. OPTIONAL: Add embellishments as desired.
Card #2
SUPPLIES:

Coordinating card stock for front mat cut at 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
Whisper white card stock for inside panel 4" x 5 1/4"
DSP - 4" x 6"
Whisper white card stock for inside panel 4" x 5 1/4"

You choose any design and coordinating card stock.
1. Fold and burnish card base with bone folder. This one mad in "portrait mode"
2. Cut the DSP to 5 1/4" on the 6" side
3. Adhere the 4" x 5 1/4" piece of DSP to the mat piece of coordinating yardstick leaving a tiny even border all the way around.
4. Adhere this matted piece to the front of the card, leaving an even border all the way around.
5. Adhere the 3/4" strip of DSP to the whisper white panel about 1/2" from the bottom on 4" side.
6. Stamp the sentiment on this panel.
7. Adhere this white panel to the inside of the card, leaving an even border all the way around.
8. Stamp your sentiment onto the scrap of whisper white.
9. Using the punch of your choice, punch out the sentiment.
10. Use dimensionals to adhere the sentiment to the front of the card. You can choose the placement, based on the pattern of your DSP -- Wherever it looks best!
11. OPTIONAL: Add embellishments as desired. I used a bow to embellish I used glue dots to adhere the bow.
Card #3

2. Cut the DSP to 5 1/4" on the 6" side and then cut at 1 1/2" on 4" side
3. Turn one of the pieces of DSP over, so you can use both sides of the paper on your card. You decide which side to show on the bottom and the top.
4. Adhere both pieces to the front of the card, leaving an even border all the way around.
5. Adhere the 3/4" strip of DSP to the whisper white panel about 1/2" from the left edge on 4" side.
6. Stamp the sentiment on this panel.
7. Adhere this white panel to the inside of the card, leaving an even border all the way around.
8. Stamp your sentiment onto the scrap of whisper white.
9. Using the punch of your choice, punch out the sentiment.
10. OPTIONAL: Add embellishments as desired. I used white crinkled seam binding to wrap around the front of the card. Placed it along the seam of the two pieces of DSP.
11. Use dimensionals to adhere the sentiment to the front of the card. (If you added ribbon, place over the ribbon) Otherwise, you can choose the placement, based on the pattern of your DSP -- Wherever it looks good to you!
Cards 4 & 5
SUPPLIES:
2 Card bases - Card stock cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/3", scored at 4 1/4"
2 Card bases - Card stock cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/3", scored at 4 1/4"
2 pieces of Whisper white card stock for inside panels 4" x 5 1/4"
2 pieces of DSP - 4" x 6"
2 pieces of DSP - 4" x 6"
scraps of whisper white card stock for stamping and punching
Stamp set of your choice (I used a retired Christmas set)
Punch of your choice to fit sentiments (I used Label me Lovely #151296)
Paper trimmer (with scoring tool)
Bone folder
Glue
Optional -- embellishments like glimmer paper, ribbon, rhinestones, gems, enamel dots, etc. I used Glimmer paper.
You choose any design and coordinating card stock.
1. Fold and burnish both card bases with bone folder. One made in "landscape mode." the other in "portrait mode."
2. Cut the DSP to 5 1/4" on the 6" side and then cut at 2" on 5 1/4" side
3. Turn the pieces of DSP to mix and match. You will use one piece of each size for each card, so you can use both sides of the paper on your card. You decide which side to show on the bottom and the top.
You will now proceed to finish one card at a time...
CARD 4 - Portrait mode
4. Adhere both pieces to the front of the card, leaving an even border all the way around.
5. Adhere the 3/4" strip of DSP to the front of the card, placing it to cover the seam of the other two pieces of CSP already on the card. Use the side that contrasts the best, so it will show.
6. Stamp the sentiment on inside panel (not pictured).
7. Adhere this white panel to the inside of the card, leaving an even border all the way around.
8. Stamp your sentiment onto the scrap of whisper white.
9. Using the punch of your choice, punch out the sentiment.
10. OPTIONAL: Add embellishments as desired. I used a 1/2" x 4" piece of Glimmer paper. Adhere this to the center of the 3/4" strip of DSP.
11. Use dimensionals to adhere the sentiment to the front of the card. (If you added glimmer paper, place over it) Otherwise, you can choose the placement, based on the pattern of your DSP -- Wherever it looks good to you!
CARD 5 - Landscape mode
4. Adhere both pieces of DSP to the front of the card, leaving an even border all the way around.
5. Adhere the 3/4" strip of DSP to the front of the card, placing it to cover the seam of the other two pieces of CSP already on the card. Use the side that contrasts the best, so it will show.
6. Stamp the sentiment on inside panel.
7. Adhere this white panel to the inside of the card, leaving an even border all the way around (not pictured).
8. Stamp your sentiment onto the scrap of whisper white.
9. Using the punch of your choice, punch out the sentiment.
10. OPTIONAL: Add embellishments as desired. I used 2 pieces of glimmer paper measuring 1/4" x 4". Adhere one of these strips on each side of the 3/4" strip of DSP.
11. Use dimensionals to adhere the sentiment to the front of the card. (If you added glimmer paper, place over it) Otherwise, you can choose the placement, based on the pattern of your DSP -- Wherever it looks good to you!
